QRBox guide
Make the
right code.
A good QR code gives someone a clear next step. Choose the smallest useful thing to hold, then test it before it goes anywhere public.
For a website
Use the full public HTTPS address, including https://. This is best for a menu, event page, product page, booking page or any web destination people should be able to open directly.
For a note or address
Use plain text when the answer should live in the code itself: a short instruction, room number, postal address or a simple message. Keep it brief; dense codes are harder to scan at a small size.
For an email, call or SMS
Use an email address when scanning should open a new message, a phone number when it should offer a call, or an SMS number when it should start a text. Use international phone-number format where you can.
Make it clear enough to trust
- Name the destination near the code. A short label such as “View the menu” or “Email the studio” gives people context before they scan.
- Use a generous quiet margin. Leave clear space around the printed code and avoid placing it over a busy image.
- Test the printed size. Scan it on a different phone, in ordinary light, from the real distance people will use.
- Do not disguise the destination. Test the exact web page, email address or number before you share the code.
Do QR codes expire?
A direct QR code stores its content in the printed pattern. QRBox does not add an expiry date or subscription dependency. A linked website can still close, move, require a login or remove its content, so check important destinations regularly.
Make printed codes accessible
Put a readable web address or other equivalent contact details beside the code. Not everyone can see, position a camera or scan a QR symbol. Keep strong light-and-dark contrast, preserve its clear margin and test the final print on more than one device. There is no single safe print size for every code and viewing distance.
Direct today. Durable routes later.
The free generator creates a QR code for your chosen destination or action without adding a QRBox redirect. QRBox formats email, phone and SMS entries so a compatible device can offer the intended action. The downloaded code does not depend on QRBox to keep working, but its destination or service can change or become unavailable. Durable QRBox addresses are planned separately and are not included in this free release.
